Information about Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide, commonly known as “oxygenated water”,

This was written by Beck Ramsay from Indiana, and it aims to share the powerful and often overlooked benefits of that ordinary little brown bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide that you can buy for under $1.00 at any pharmacy.

Most doctors won’t tell you what hydrogen peroxide can do—because if they did, they’d lose thousands of dollars in income.

Here are some of its many uses:

  1. Mouthwash & Whitening
Take one full cap (the white cap on the bottle) and hold the liquid in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do this while I’m taking a bath.) Say goodbye to gum pain and enjoy naturally whiter teeth without expensive toothpaste. Use it instead of regular mouthwash—it even says “oral rinse” in small print on the bottle.
  2. Toothbrush Sanitizer
Let your toothbrush soak in a cup of hydrogen peroxide to kill germs and bacteria.
  3. Countertop & Surface Cleaner
Clean your counters and tabletops with hydrogen peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Just pour a little on your cloth or spray it directly and wipe.
  4. Cutting Board Disinfectant
After rinsing your wooden cutting board, pour hydrogen peroxide over it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
  5. Foot Fungus Remedy
Spray your feet (especially between the toes) every evening with a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water to combat fungal infections. Let them air dry.
  6. Wound Soak
Soak any infection or wound in 3% hydrogen peroxide for 5–10 minutes. Even gangrene that wouldn’t heal with medication was reportedly cured with multiple daily soaks.
  7. Bathroom Spray Disinfectant
Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water and keep it in each bathroom to sanitize toilets without damaging your plumbing like bleach and harsh chemicals can.
  8. Sinus Spray
Tilt your head back and spray a 50/50 peroxide-water mix into your nostrils when you have a cold or blocked sinuses. It will bubble up and help kill bacteria. Hold it for a few minutes, then blow your nose.
  9. Toothache Relief
If you have a bad toothache and can’t get to the dentist right away, hold a capful of hydrogen peroxide in your mouth for 10 minutes several times a day. It will greatly reduce the pain.
  10. Hair Lightening
For a more natural hair color, spray a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water on wet hair after a shower and comb through. Unlike boxed hair bleach, this gives a gradual lightening effect, resulting in a more natural sun-kissed look without harsh tones.
  11. Skin Soak
Add half a bottle of hydrogen peroxide to your bath to help get rid of boils, fungus, or other skin infections.
  12. Laundry Whitener
Add a cup of hydrogen peroxide instead of bleach when washing whites. For blood stains, pour peroxide directly on the stain, let it sit for a minute, scrub gently, then rinse with cold water. Repeat as needed.
  13. Mirror Cleaner
Use hydrogen peroxide to clean your mirrors—no streaks! You’ll love the result.

⚠️

Important Note on Dilution

  • Use 3% hydrogen peroxide for all the above uses unless stated otherwise.
  • For body and mouth use, never use more than 10%—this is already strong.
  • 30% hydrogen peroxide is very strong and can burn skin; it’s only recommended for clothing or hair bleaching.

Please share this information with others who might benefit from knowing the many uses of 3% hydrogen peroxide.
